O Cruzeiro

The Cruzeiro da Lapa is the oldest lodging in the village, born out of the need to accommodate people who arrived here as visitors and required a place to stay overnight and rest.

Thinking of you

Recently, the building has acquired a new face, preserving its historical essence while being thoroughly renovated to offer greater comfort and a more welcoming experience. Today, each room has been designed as an extension of our identity and the memory of the region, telling a part of our history.

Each space represents a striking symbol of our territory: the lizard that for many years hung in the Sanctuary, the wheat that refers to the staple cereal of the region's traditional bread, the serene blue of the source of the Vouga River, and the granitic stone so characteristic of the local landscape.

More than a place to stay, Cruzeiro da Lapa is an experience of connection to the land, to its origins, and to the stories that have shaped this village over time.

The Experience That Remains

“An absolute silence that I no longer thought possible. Waking up to the smell of fresh bread and walking toward the spring brought me peace. Walking through such a small place, yet full of energy, is cozy and calm. It felt good to replace the noise of cars and traffic with the cheerful conversations of people passing by next to us. It was curious to realize how such a small spring gives rise to such a big river.”
